Why Should I Change When My Partner is the Problem?
Many couples get stuck arguing over who is right, who is responsible, and who needs to change. Over time, criticism, defensiveness, resentment, and withdrawal become patterns that keep both partners frustrated. This episode explores how relational thinking helps couples recognize these cycles, take responsibility for their contributions, and move beyond blame.
Drawing on couples therapy and relational psychology, we examine emotional accountability, intimacy, communication, and the limits of personal empowerment. We also explore why insight alone rarely changes a relationship, how partners develop negative assumptions about each other, and how small behavioral changes can rebuild trust and connection.
