The Conversation You Should Have Had Earlier: Boundaries and the Work After the Line Is Drawn
Boundaries are often taught as simple limits: say what belongs to you, let other people have their reactions, and stop managing everyone else’s emotions. This episode goes deeper into what happens after the boundary is spoken, especially when the line comes out with years of old resentment, shame, or family history attached to it.
Using Adlerian psychology, Stoicism’s dichotomy of control, recovery language, and a personal example around body comments and family patterns, this episode breaks down the difference between valid content, messy delivery, and unresolved history. The real work is learning to say things earlier, use fewer words when flooded, repair the part that belongs to you, and keep the boundary intact.
